Car history:
This is a barn fresh rebuild, numbers matching, documented 1969 Stingray Roadster Convertible. When I found it in the barn (garage) that it had been in for nearly 30 years, it was set up as a drag racing car. The owners father was the families mechanic and after passing away, they simply tucked it into the back of the garage and basically forgot about it. When I found it, it had 3 car covers over it, each time one began to dry rot, they just bought another and put it over the last. (I actually have pictures of the car as I found it). After pulling it out of the garage, I brought the car to a locally well know car restorer, who tore down the 12 to 1 compression engine and returned it to a pump gas, beefed up original engine and also dyno tested the engine to approx 375 hp. Nearly everything inside the engine was replaced and after the DOUBLE PUMP heads were gone over, returned to the car. Everything in need of replacement on and around the car has been replaced, including all brakes, lines and nearly everything that could go wrong, including gas tank and more. I recently replaced the seats with new leather and cushions, the interior looks nearly brand new. I have only used the car since it's rebuild for a couple of local parades and car shows. I am a responsible, mature adult and have done nothing but show this car love and respect. The car is a 4 speed (hurst shifter), 350/350 with a big block hood because of intake clearance. The heads are the rare, valuable, legit double hump heads! I also added the chrome gills to the sides, not reflected in these photos. This car could be driven ANYWHERE and is tagged and registered in the State of Delaware with clear papers. I've put much effort and car into returning this beautiful car back to the road where it belongs. There are only minor details left to be done on the car, such as the top could use replacing, I didn't simply because it's original to the car, additionally the vacuum for the wipers isn't currently working, however. This car was originally Cortez Silver in color, the engine type is the L46 (350 HP, 350 CI Engine), 4 speed manual transmission, power brakes, working AM/FM Stereo Radio, interior is Tuxedo Black. Mileage indicated is the mileage SINCE rebuilding. The car has 45K original miles on it. August 4, 2008.
